Your closeness to Jesus determines your willingness to serve
“The closer you get to Jesus, the more willing you will be to serve other people,” said Miles a recent Sunday message. “People think the more closer you get to Jesus the more you deserve.”
“‘Oh, I didn’t get my seat in church… I didn’t get my parking space, that guy cut in front of me… I been givin’ money…’ And THAT’S the attitude you still have?”
Often, people undergo a radical transformation when they give their lives to Christ, but they cease to be transformed beyond that initial encounter.
The closer you get to Jesus, the more like Him you should be. If you walk with Christ, you should possess the attitude of a servant, for “…the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many” [Matthew 20:28].
“One of the ways you can tell how close you are to Christ is not how long you’ve been going to church, and it’s not by how much information you have, it’s not by how much you’ve done, it’s by how much you’re like Jesus.”
Throughout your day, seek out opportunities to serve those around you, the way Jesus himself served and serves you.
