What it means to do everything “in the name of Jesus”
In Matthew 25:40, God says to those who fed the hungry, gave drink to the thirsty, took in the strangers, clothed the naked, and visited the sick and those in prison, “inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.”
It is so easy to compartmentalize our lives, confining our faith to the “church service,” and then going about our business. But that’s not what God has called us to!
“Every thing we do, we need to do in the name of Jesus Christ,” said Miles. “Every time you talk to somebody, every time you pray for somebody, every time you encourage somebody… you do it for the glory of God, and you need to see the world and all your encounters through the eyes of Jesus Christ.”
Examine your life. Do you treat others the way you would treat Jesus if He were with you? If not, ask God to help you change, and see others with His eyes.
