Jameis Winston | My Story

My Story | Season 2, Episode 7

At the ripe old age of 19 years and 342 days, Jameis Winston became the youngest player ever to win the Heisman Trophy – given yearly to the most outstanding player in college football.

Jameis was successful, so much so that TV commentators referred to him as “famous Jameis.” The problem was that he wasn’t able to enjoy any of it. “I was on top of the world it felt like,” said Jameis, “but in my heart – in my soul – it was rock bottom.”

Unable to find contentment in all the good things that were happening to him, Jameis decided to stop glorifying himself, and start giving glory to God instead.

Jameis was drafted first overall in the 2015 NFL draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That same year, he won Rookie of the Year honors, and was voted to the Pro Bowl.
