Have you fallen? God can get you up again
Humans are sinful. Romans 3:23 says that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” This means that we constantly miss the mark of the perfect relationship with God and the life of purpose we were created for.
Sinning is painful. It hurts us. But it also causes us to realize our need for God’s mercy and forgiveness. 1 John 1:9 says “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
In that sense, our God is not a God who condemns us for falling, but one who, when we’ve fallen, says to us, “Here let me help you up, we’re gonna make it, we’re gonna make it through, you gotta trust me!” What a beautiful assurance.
Identify an area of your life where you’ve sinned—a place where you’ve missed the mark. Pray, confessing that sin to God, and ask Him to get you up, and make a righteous man or woman of you. If you do, He is faithful and just to forgive your sins and cleanse you from unrighteousness!
