God exists outside the “basketball”
Science tells us that everything has to have a beginning, because that law governs the natural world. Think of the natural world as a basketball. Within the basketball, everything has to have a beginning. Therefore, some people think that God too had to have a beginning.
The problem with that logic is that God exists outside the basketball. The laws that He created to govern inside the basketball don’t apply to Him. He created those laws for us! And all those laws lead us, point us to Him!
But – unlike us – God can also exist inside the natural world. He says, “where I exist you understand but by faith you can reach into the spiritual world.”
Exodus 3:14 says, “And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” God is saying, “you wouldn’t understand my name, you can barely understand my love because you always question it!”
Though we may never understand the fullness of God and His love in this life, we can stop questioning His love. Today, try to look for evidence of God’s love in your life. You may be surprised what you find!
